CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — For the first time in three years, SpaceX is set to launch its Falcon Heavy rocket into orbit today at 8:41 a.m.
According to the Associated Press, the launch will deliver a “classified payload” for the U.S. Space Force into orbit.
The mission is dubbed USSF-44 and will depart Earth from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Should conditions not permit a launch today, a back-up window will open at 8:37 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2.
According to SpaceX’s website, following booster separation, Falcon Heavy’s two side boosters will land at SpaceX’s Landing Zones 1 and 2 (LZ-1 and LZ-2) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
The entire launch will be livestreamed through this story beginning at approximately 8:25 a.m.
