Photos: Dog rescued from house fire in Lawndale

CHICAGO — A dog was on the receiving end of the life-saving efforts by the Chicago Fire Department on Monday.

Fire crews responded to the 1400 block of S. Kostner Avenue in Lawndale following reports of a house fire.

Arriving crews safely removed the dog. No other injuries were reported.

“We care about all residents,” the fire department tweeted. “Please check your smoke and CO detectors!”
