Malcolm X College on lockdown after nearby shooting

CHICAGO — Malcolm X College is on a lockdown Friday afternoon while police investigate a shooting.

According to a public safety alert from the college, the shooting happened around 2 p.m. in the 1900 block of West Jackson Boulevard.

People are asked to avoid the area while police investigate.
