Emergency crews respond to large fire after possible explosion at LaSalle chemical plant

LASALLE, Ill. — Emergency crews are responding to a massive fire after an alleged explosion at a chemical plant in LaSalle.

The fire started just before 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Carus Chemical plant, located at 1500 8th Street.

Video captured by Skycam9 shows flames and smoke billowing from the building.

According to police, residents in the area are being asked to shelter in place. No evacuations have been made and no injuries have been reported.
