Chicago police find 2 men dead, child unharmed inside apartment

CHICAGO — Two men were found dead and a 2-year-old child was found unharmed inside an apartment Wednesday as Chicago police officers responded to a check welfare call.

The two men, who were family members, and the child were found inside an apartment near East 82nd Street and South Drexel Avenue.

The child was taken to a local hospital.

The men were 27 and 79 years old, according to police.

Area 2 Detectives are interviewing potential witnesses.

No weapons were recovered at the scene, according to police.
