Art Institute lions return home after temporary removal

CHICAGO — The Chicago Art Institute is back to looking like its old self on the outside.

The two bronze lion statues returned Tuesday to their usual spots, the front steps of the Michigan Avenue entrance.

The lions were removed for a steam cleaning and wax preservative.

The lions have been a part of the museum since 1894.
