A quiet weather day before the storm arrives

CHICAGO – It will be quiet and cloudy today with highs in the upper 20s on Wednesday.

Temperatures will hold steady in the upper 20s overnight under cloudy skies.  Some snow is possible, especially in our far western counties. 

Accumulating snow will spread across the region Thursday as a Winter Storm Watch goes into effect.  Strong winds will usher in arctic air later in the day and lead to blowing and drifting snow.

Temperatures Thursday will fall from the lower 30s around midday to the lower 30s by late afternoon.
